Raw Dark Chocolate Tart
Rich, creamy & oh so scrumptious.
Happy love week friends! This recipe is a special treat made of some of the most beautiful whole foods to love on yourself and your valentine.
I developed this recipe while I was studying Nutrition for my Holistic Food Preparation course. It was a huge hit and it was one of the recipes that sparked my creativity to have a blog one day!
Not only is this tart rich, creamy and unbelievably tasty, it is also 100% plant-based and gluten-free. A healthy & easy to prepare indulgence.
I hope you enjoy it!
Ingredients:
Crust:
1 ½ cup almond flour
¼ cup raw cacao powder
¼ cup melted coconut oil
1 Tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of cinnamon and Himalayan salt
Filling:
¾ cup coconut milk (I like Cha’s Organic, look for full-fat)
1 roughly chopped 70% (or higher) dark chocolate bar (bitter) 80g
1 tsp coconut palm sugar
Optional Garnishes:
Coconut whip
Raw cacao nibs
Fresh Berries
Directions:
Lightly grease pan shallow torte pan with coconut oil
Combine crust ingredients
Using your hands, press crust contents evenly into prepared pan
Place the chocolate (cut up into small pieces) in a medium sized bowl. Bring coconut milk to a boil in a saucepan, and pour hot over the chocolate. Let sit for 2-5 minutes.
Add the coconut sugar to the bowl and whisk together until combined
Pour filling into crust and let cool for 1-2 hours in the freezer
Slice, garnish and enjoy!
